I believe at 8:30am this morning someone took out the AAPT fibre going to the Ascott telephone exchange. This failure will affect customers of iiNet, Amcom, Exetel, TPG, everyone except maybe Telstra 🙁
This also includes my office and the ETA for this problem to be fixed is 7pm tomorrow, 2 full work days later. If your going to be without internet for days, what do you do?
All our customers are up and running, we have a process to workaround this issue. Half of our team is now working from home and we’re using our “loaner internet” to get our office back on the internet.
It is a bit slower than normal unfortunately, but it’s only temporary. We normally use this solution to rescue customers with internet failures, it’s good to get some use out of it ourselves 🙂
