--- title: "Virtual CIO Services in Perth: IT Strategy and Roadmaps | CCP" description: "Virtual CIO services in Perth: strategy meetings, a costed 12 to 24 month technology roadmap and one senior person who owns the plan, with no CIO on payroll." url: "https://ccp.com.au/services/vcio/" --- # Virtual CIO services in Perth ## Someone senior for the decisions above the helpdesk. A helpdesk closes tickets. A chief information officer (CIO) decides what you build next and what you stop paying for. Most businesses your size don’t have one on payroll. We fill that role for you, up to four times a year, with the evidence. - **12–24 months** A costed technology roadmap - **One** Named Technology Success Director - **30+ seats** Included on + Compliance and Complete Example technology roadmap Refreshed each year Horizon 12 to 24 months Every project Costed Sequenced around Risk and cashflow Owned by One senior person ## How a virtual CIO engagement works ### The Technology Success Program, run every year. You get the full cycle every year: where your IT stands now, where the business is heading, and what stands between the two. Then a plan that closes the gap. - 01 #### Map the current state. Everything you run gets written down: people, devices, servers, cloud platforms, licences, vendors and security controls. That includes what the last IT person knew and never documented. No plan survives a wrong inventory, so this comes first. - 02 #### Understand the desired state. Where is the business heading? Revenue targets, headcount, a new office or service line, a merger, a compliance bar a larger client is about to impose. Your business plan sets the IT plan, never the reverse. - 03 #### Identify roadblocks and gaps. Between today and that target sits a list: budget limits, technical debt, staff capacity and compliance deadlines. Then the vendor contract locked in for another year, the licences nobody uses, the product that stopped fitting. We name them plainly. - 04 #### Build and communicate a plan. You get a 12 to 24 month roadmap, with projects sequenced around dependencies, risk and cashflow. Each one is costed and tied to a business outcome. Your finance lead, legal counsel and partners can all read it and know what they’re signing off. - 05 #### Execute the roadmap. Projects get kicked off, stakeholders coordinated and progress tracked, with decisions raised the moment they appear. The Security and Tech Review reports on what has happened. The Technology Success Program decides what happens next. - 06 #### Review it a year later. A year on, the questions are simple. Did what we predicted happen? Where did the plan hold, and where did it bend? The next roadmap is built on the answers, and each cycle gets sharper because we know the business better. ## What does a virtual CIO do? ### Strategy meetings, a written roadmap and one senior owner. ![A boardroom table set for a planning meeting, with a printed technology roadmap, a tablet and coffee cups.](https://ccp.com.au/_astro/feature.DW3oJ7_h_XJuWm.webp) - #### One named Technology Success Director The same senior person owns the strategic conversation every time. Not a rotating carousel of account managers. - #### Security and Tech Review Incidents reported, Microsoft 365 Secure Score walked through, licence and asset use examined, helpdesk patterns reviewed and stalled tickets re-opened. - #### Technology Success Program meetings Forward-looking sessions on compliance tracking, growth, process automation and the rolling technology roadmap. At least once a year, up to quarterly. - #### A written roadmap, refreshed each year Projects sequenced, costed and tied to business outcomes. Shareable with boards, auditors, insurers and incoming owners. ## Finding savings in your IT budget ### Unused licences, auto-renewals and the spend nobody has reviewed. The best value here is rarely a new product. It’s the licences you stopped using after a restructure and the contract that auto-renewed on something nobody opens. It’s the integration one person built that nobody can safely touch now. We’d rather hand revenue back than charge for something that has stopped earning it. ## Virtual CIO questions ### Straight answers. Or skip the reading: call [(08) 9467 2269](tel:+61894672269) and ask an engineer. ### Our board wants an AI adoption plan. Can CCP build one? Yes, and artificial intelligence (AI) plans are a common ask in 2026. This is part of the Technology Success Program. Three questions drive it. Which tools get used by whom, typically Microsoft 365 Copilot for most staff and Claude for Work or ChatGPT Enterprise for specific teams. What data those tools can reach, which needs a data sensitivity review and an access audit first. And how it is governed: acceptable use, controls and a regular review. The plan goes into your board paper with costs, risks and a six to twelve month rollout. ### A vendor is pitching us a shiny new product. Can you tell us if we need it? That is arguably the most valuable thing a virtual CIO does. We attend the sales call and ask what the vendor would rather you did not. How does it integrate with what you already run? What is the real security position? What is the total cost once implementation and support are counted? Who owns the data if you leave? You get a written opinion. We are not a reseller for most of the products clients get pitched, so we have no reason to nod along. ### How is this different from a big-4 consulting engagement? Scale, mostly. A big-4 engagement is usually one-off, deliverable-driven and expensive to repeat. The Technology Success Program runs continuously, owned by the same senior person who chairs your reviews. It also sits beside the team running your IT, so nothing gets lost between strategy and delivery. ### What happens if we’re too small for the Technology Success Program? The program is included on + Compliance and Complete agreements with 30 users or more. Below that, you can opt in for an extra fee. A lighter strategic conversation can also happen inside your Security and Tech Review. Or we tell you straight that strategic IT is not worth the spend at your size yet. We have given all three answers.
