## Copilot Cowork credits explained

### One cent per credit. You can change every other number.

1. 01

    #### Credits per prompt, prompts per person

Microsoft charges for Cowork in Copilot Credits, at US$0.01 each. A large prompt uses more credits than a small one, so the calculator sorts prompts into light, medium and heavy. Each user type sends a different number of each per month. The calculator multiplies this by your headcount and converts the total to Australian dollars.

2. 02

    #### Which numbers are fixed, and which you set

One US cent per credit is Microsoft's published rate. It is the only fixed number. The credits per prompt and the prompts per user type are our estimates. You can change them on each user type card and in the assumptions panel.

3. 03

    #### Licences are not in the model

Each Cowork user also needs a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence. The price depends on your reseller and your agreement, so the calculator does not include it.
